The Story

 THE STORY

A decade long career of through-the-line expertise, marketing & advertising 'stuff',

wondering "what did I really achieve that I’m truly proud of?” I was working at places

that seemed to have more ego than values, unless it was to tick boxes.

It was a place in life I just didn’t want to be.

LIFE HAS A WAY

OF GETTING REAL.

I spent 12 years creating and managing marketing campaigns, staff advocacy programs and brand identities in the UK, Europe and Globally for big and small clients, both agency and client side.

It paid the bills, but on reflection, felt really hollow just selling ‘stuff’.

I didn’t feel like I was in very inclusive environments, with company cultures and values that didn’t feel true to what they put on paper. Mental Health, Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion were just tick boxes for many to PR, rather than truly believe in.

I remember being asked “but what’s the commercial value of Sustainability?” That lack of vision with politics, red tape and BS always holding places back in the dark ages to make an active change,

made me want to create ‘Place of the Way’.

For people that know me, I'm different, I actually make stuff happen and I don’t commit myself

to a label, other than feeling like an alien trying to understand what it means to be human in an

often inhuman world.

I’m proud of my amazing, culturally diverse upbringing thanks to my parents. Who from a very young age shared their personal and professional values in Events and Hospitality, that were life defining for me. The loss of both of them, a horrific life-changing assault and meeting people from all walks of life going through hell, are part reasons

as to why I care about mental health awareness,

that I see as a strength, rather than a weakness.

I’ve seen the impact humans have had

on nature, as close to living in a city, countryside

and across the world, that I know we have to work together to make a change.

The reality is, we live in a day and age where what we do can impact the things we truly care about, big or small, in really enjoyable, fun and creative ways

to help People & Planet.

It’s why I am and believe in a

Place of the Way.
